Apricite

or purchase through Ravelry.

As seen in Laine magazine Issue 7, and now available as an individual PDF with additional sizes!

When thinking about apricity and the feeling it evokes, images of cozy knitted sweaters come to mind. Perhaps this is because these wooly garments provide a very similar function as apricity does. Rays of sun warm and lift our spirits (albeit even if just for a moment), just as a wool sweater provides warmth and comfort on the coldest of days. I’ve named this sweater Apricite, a take on the original word, an object that epitomizes what apricity means to me- a big, soft and fuzzy hand-knit sweater that warms the body, and also the heart <3.

NOTES

Apricite is worked flat in pieces from the bottom up. The neckline has functional front opening. The fit is oversized with a slightly cropped length, loose sleeves and drop shoulders. The garment is knitted using two strands of yarn held together: a DK weight wool yarn with a lace weight mohair/ silk blend. A single strand of worsted weight wool yarn can be used in place of these yarns, although yardage might vary.
